I had been searching and searching for a decent Sailor Moon amigurumi pattern and came up empty handed. I found some finished objects for sale, but no patterns. Disappointed I set to work making my own Sailor Moon doll in the style of a small UFO Catcher doll. This is the result. I have also made a Sailor Saturn and Sailor Venus based off the same pattern and have plans to make more.

This is my first attempt at an amigurumi pattern so if you find any errors please email me and let me know.
Also, when I first put out this pattern I put it up on Google Docs. Having people link directly to the document has caused me some problems in moving it. Please only link either to this page or to the pattern on Ravelry. Please do not link directly to the PDF or I will be forced to move it every so often.
Please do not try to pass this pattern off as your own. I put quite a bit of work into it because I want to give back to the amigurumi community that has given me so many great free patterns. Please only distribute by linking to one of the two above pages. Do not post this pattern for sale. Other than that I do not mind if you make items from this pattern and sell them.
If all that is okay with you download Sailor Moon Pattern PDF.

I can’t get the pdf to show up? Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to you Internet Explorer or something?

Well I know you don’t need IE since although I test my sites in IE I rarely use it and I know the majority of people coming here seem to use firefox. I haven’t had anyone unable to get the PDF. What browser are you using? It is a large PDF can can take a minute or two to download so maybe that is the problem. If we still can’t figure it out I can try and email it to you if you like.

Hi,
I am sorry you are having problems getting the PDF. I did make sure that the file is still there and the link is working fine for me but I put in temporarily on Google Docs in case you can grab it easier from there http://bit.ly/qzsvCl
If you still cannot get it you might want to make sure your copy of Acrobat is up to date (http://get.adobe.com/reader/) or your internet might be slow at the moment and hindering the download and it may work if you try it again later (which so far has resolved any download problems people have had).
Let me know if works,
ThanksComment by Jen on October 15, 2011 at 8:56 pm

I have made Venus and Saturn but sadly haven’t had much time lately to make more. Someone on Ravelry made a Tuxedo mask based off this pattern though that is really amazing.

Hi, I’m having trouble downloading the PDF. I get redirected to a blank page. Please help.

Hi Nicole,
The PDF is large and I have found that some people reach their daily bandwidth limit and then cannot download the pattern. The patterns is there and downloading fine for me so you might want to try later or you can try the mirror of this I put up on google docs http://bit.ly/qzsvCl. If none of those things work you might want to try and see if you copy of adobe reader is up to date.
Sadly the file is simply too large to email, it would never go through. I hope those things help. Everyone who has had problems getting the pattern so far has been able to get it a day or two later so I hope the problem is resolved.

Hi Jen, maybe you should take a look at this blog where a “free” Sailor Moon pattern is up for grabs: http://oznurunhobileri.blogspot.com/2013/04/minik-prenses.html. That’s your work, if I’m not mistaken.
This blogger is in the habit of pinching off other people’s work and passing them off as her own. Just a couple of days ago, I found an unauthorized translation (into Turkish) of one of my free amigurumi patterns on her blog; what’s even worse, she had not even bothered citing the source. I requested her to either name the source or take down the post but she’s so far ignored my request. I’ve already lodged a complaint with Google regarding copyright infringement against her. Maybe you should too. Thanks.

Thank you for alerting me to this. She even called the pattern a “knit” sailor moon doll. I filed a copyright infringement notice with Google. Hopefully if she is a repeat offender her site will be taken down. It’s a shame too, I have had this pattern up for two years and this is the first time something like this has happened.
I adore your blog and work btw. Would you mind if I link it? I am sorry she stole from you, hopefully if people report her she won’t have a site anymore.

I’m really glad you filed a complaint. People should not be allowed to get away with this sort of thievery. Thank you for dropping by my blog, and I wouldn’t mind at all if you linked it. I’d to thrilled, to be honest
Btw, I love your work too

I also put up a new post about it, in case it alerts other pattern creators to the issue. Thanks again, and so sorry she stole your work. I find it particularly disgusting that people would steal from those of us who have always offered their pattern(s) for free. If she had just asked and given credit this wouldn’t be an issue.
